Our Terms of Business
Of course here at Lal we also have some "fine print", so please note our general Terms of
Business:
Enrollment:
Course enrollment needs to be in writing on the supplied enrollment form. The signed enrollment form is legally binding.
Payment conditions:
With the enrollment to one of our courses, an enrollment fee in the amount of CHF 250.- is due. This enrollment fee is deducted from the total course fee on the first bill.
Course fees are payable monthly in advance. The cost for any course materials (Books, Fotocopies, etc.) is NOT included in the course fees.
Outstanding payments will be charged a fee of CHF 20.- with the first payment reminder. Interest on outstanding payments is 10% p.a..
Termination/Cancellation:
Termination of courses at Lal is possible with a notice period of 30 days at the end of every monthly billing cycle and has to be in writing. Course fees up to the end of the notice period are due under any circumstances.
Cancellations of enrollment up to 30 days prior to the course start are free of charge, there is only an administrative fee of CHF 35.-. The cancellation has to be in written form. Cancellations less than 30 days prior to the course start will be charged according to the following list:
up to 20 days prior to course start: 40% of course fees (60% of fees reimbursed)
up to 10 days prior to course start: 70% of course fees (30% of fees reimbursed)
less than 10 days prio to course start: 100% of course fees (NO reimbursement)
Course Realization:
Places in courses are allotted according to the order of enrollments (given that due payments are received on time). Should the minimal number of participants for a course not be reached, then the course will generally be cancelled and the course fees will be reimbursed. Upon agreement with the remaining participants it can be decided to hold the course with a lesser number of participants (for example as semi-private lessons), but at a higher price. We reserve the right to change the dates and/or times of courses, combine courses, or cancel courses for organizational reasons.
Group courses (3 or more participants) and semi-private lessons (2 participants) are held regularly every week on a previously defined day and time (except for national holidays and the two week summer break of Lal Language School). Adjustments of course days or times for semi-private lessons are only possible on mutual agreement of the participants and Lal at least one month before the change. For GROUP COURSES such adjustments of dates and times are NOT possible.
Missed Lessons:
Missed lessons for group courses and semi-private lessons are generally not compensated and reimbursement of fees for these lessons is not possible. For private lessons, if a cancellation is not communicated at least 48h up front then reimbursement of these lessons is also not possible.
Attestation:
On request we will provide an attestation to our students free of charge if they have participated in at least 80% of the held lessons.
Liability/Insurance:
All course participants are responsible for their own insurance. Lal language school GmbH is not liable for any theft, loss of belongings or any other kind of damage to participants or their belongings.
We reserve the right to changes of program, prices and these General Terms of Business.
